Restroom trailer or porta potties for a wedding?
Choose a restroom trailer for a wedding over 75 guests when you have a garden hose and a dedicated 110-volt outlet within 100 feet. Choose flushing units with sinks when the site has no power or water. Standard porta potties suit casual ranch weddings and staff-only areas.
| Restroom trailer | Flushing unit with sink | Standard porta potty | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Feel for guests | Like an indoor bathroom | Clean, bright, flushing | Basic |
| Hookups | Hose + 110V/20A outlet | None | None |
| Level ground needed | Yes, room for a trailer and truck | Small pad | Small pad |
| Good for | 75–250 guests | Up to 75 guests per 2 units | Staff, casual events |
| Limitation | Needs vehicle access and a site check | Fresh-water tank refilled on service | No sink inside |
How many restrooms does a wedding need?
A 150-guest wedding lasting 5 hours with a bar needs 4 porta potty stalls by our planning formula, or one 3-stall restroom trailer plus one wheelchair-accessible unit. A 2-stall trailer covers about 100 guests for a 5-hour reception. Add a hand-wash station near the catering tent either way.
Worked example: 150 guests × 5 hours ÷ 300 = 2.5, rounded up to 3. Add 1 because alcohol is served, for a total of 4 stalls. Run your own numbers with the wedding and event calculator.
Does your wedding venue have the hookups a trailer needs?
A restroom trailer needs four things: a level spot about 8 by 20 feet plus room for the truck to back in, a garden hose with steady water pressure, a dedicated 110-volt, 20-amp outlet within 100 feet, and a clear path for guests. Without water, we fill the onboard tank before delivery.
Full detail, including what happens when the venue is off-grid, is in our restroom trailer hookup guide and the quick wedding trailer checklist story.

Wedding venues and wine country routes we serve
We set up wedding restrooms at private ranches, vineyards and family land from Willits to Anderson Valley, Hopland, the Mendocino coast and Healdsburg. Wine country weddings on Highway 253 or Highway 128 need a delivery window the day before, because those roads are slow for a truck towing a trailer.
See local details for Boonville and Anderson Valley, Hopland and Healdsburg.
Check your wedding date
Send the date, guest count and venue. We confirm trailer availability and send an itemized quote, usually the same day. A deposit holds the trailer.
Wedding restroom questions
How far ahead should I book a restroom trailer for a wedding?
Book a restroom trailer 2 to 4 months ahead for a May through October wedding. Saturdays in September book out first in Anderson Valley and Hopland wine country.
Does a restroom trailer need an attendant?
A restroom trailer for 150 guests or fewer runs fine without an attendant. For larger weddings, ask a staff member to check paper and soap once an hour.
Can the trailer run on a generator?
A restroom trailer can run on a generator that supplies steady 110-volt, 20-amp power, typically a 3,500-watt unit or larger. Do not share the circuit with catering equipment, or the pump and lights may cut out.
Will the delivery truck damage our lawn or vineyard rows?
Drivers stay on driveways and firm ground and walk the path first. On wet ground we lay boards or choose a gravel spot. Show us the route on a site walk or by text photos.
Is a flushing porta potty good enough for a wedding?
Flushing units with sinks work well for weddings under 75 guests or venues without power. They feel more like a home bathroom than a standard unit and need no hookups.
